FPE: ASUP lamented, Three reasons why we suspend class.

ASUP FPE LAMENT: We will not resume until our requests are fulfilled. 

The Chairman of the Polytechnic school's Academic Workers Union, Nurudeen Masopa, said that their decisions were primarily three. One was solved while two others were not taken care of. He said members of ASUP come to work but don't go to school.

"First, the protocols developed by the management for prevention of COVID-19 are not satisfactory. We told the administration after moving around that the facilities were not enough, but nothing was done. For us, that is not appropriate.

Another critical problem is the lack of our salaries paid but not paid to us by the federal government. Since the beginning of this year, before the pandemic we have been on this topic. The management has been given three letters, but nothing has been done with them. Because of lack of money, the management later decided to pay two months out of forty-two months.

"Nevertheless, the management have only recruited ad-hoc staff of about fifteen people less than three weeks ago. There's money, that's why we believe. If we say that there's no money, you can't add it to the salary bill.

We will then continue to campus but will not enter the classroom until our demands have been fulfilled.
